Water Polo

Practices

Our water polo team practises Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at MacEwan University.

We train from the first Thursday following Labour Day until the week before Victoria Day. We take two weeks off at the end of December for the holidays.

We travel to the University of Alberta to scrimmage against the University of Alberta Water Polo Club approximately monthly on Sunday evenings.

Fees

All members are required to pay the Club fee of $40 and the Alberta Water Polo Association  player fee of $55*. Members need to register directly with Alberta Water Polo Association to pay this fee before their first practice.

In addition, practices fees for water polo alone are $660 annually or $90 monthly (for 9 months). For players who are able to join us only once a week, we discount the fee by 1/3.

Members who swim as well as play water polo receive a 10% discount!

We do not deny anybody membership for financial reasons. Any member who is not able to pay the Club fees should discuss the situation with the Club treasurer.

For all the details on membership fees, see the Registration page.

* Fee subject to change; fees for 2024/2025 not yet released.

Competitions

We scrimmage with the University of Alberta Water Polo Club approximately once a month. They usually also host an annual tournament that we attend.

We try to find a tournament, often either the IGLA+ Championship or a tournament hosted by a team affiliated with IGLA+, to travel to each year as a team.
