Registration

Welcome

Registration for the 2024/2025 season is now open! We are so excited to welcome you to our 26th season!

We offer all new members two free practices, so that they have an idea of what our club is like. For swimming, we expect that new members are able to swim one length of the pool (25 m) without stopping.

All members are required to pay a Club fee and to be registered with Swim Alberta or Alberta Water Polo Association, to cover liability insurance and to support our sports' governing bodies in the province.

Members must be at least 18 years of age to participate in Masters aquatics.

1 - Fill out the registration form

Registration is open for both returning and new members!

There is a cap for the number of swimmers we are able to accommodate. Returning members must pay their fees by 29 August and new members must pay their fees by 19 September to ensure their spot in the Club.

2 - Check e-mail for invoice and pay!

Invoices will be sent before the season begins for returning members and after the first week of practices for new members.

Making Waves is run entirely by volunteers, so during the regular season this may take a few days to be processed.

3 - Check e-mail for waivers and sign digitally

Making Waves is run entirely by volunteers, so during the regular season this may take a few days to be processed.

4 - Attend your first practice!

If you are new to the Club, please review our information for new members, including what you should expect at practice and pool etiquette.

During September and October, through 21 October, we have a second practice on Mondays, from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. During this period, beginner to intermediate swimmers should attend the 7:30 p.m. practice and intermediate to advanced swimmers should attend the 8:30 p.m. practice. Swimmers who are able to attend only one practice a week should attend a Monday practice if possible.

Pool

We practise at the Dr. Gerry Kelly Aquatics Centre in the Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness at MacEwan University (10800 105 Avenue).

The pool is 25 metres with six lanes. The depth of the pool is 1.2 m to 3.8 m with a zero depth entry. There are gendered locker rooms and washrooms adjacent to the pool, with private locker rooms and washrooms on the pool deck. The temperature is approximately 29 degrees and uses chlorine.

The pool is readily accessible by public transit, including the MacEwan LRT station. Paid parking is available behind the building.
