Registration for the 2025/2026 season is now open! We are so excited to welcome you to our 27th season!
We offer all new members two free practices, so that they have an idea of what our club is like. For swimming, we expect that new members are able to swim one length of the pool (25 m) without stopping.
All members are required to pay a Club fee, which includes registration with Swim Alberta or Alberta Water Polo Association to cover liability insurance and to support our sports' governing bodies in the province.
Members must be at least 18 years of age to participate in Masters aquatics.
Registration currently is open only for returning members. Returning members must have registered and paid by the first practice to ensure a spot in the Club.
Registration for new members opens one week before the first practice, depending on availability of space in the Club. New members will be able to try two practices for free, and will have to have paid within two weeks to ensure their spot in the Club.
Invoices will be sent before the season begins for returning members and after the first week of practices for new members.
Making Waves is run entirely by volunteers, so during the regular season this may take a few days to be processed.

During September and October, through 6 October, we have a second practice on Mondays, from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. During this period, beginner to intermediate swimmers should attend the 7:30 p.m. practice and intermediate to advanced swimmers should attend the 8:30 p.m. practice. Swimmers who are able to attend only one practice a week should attend a Monday practice if possible.
We practise at the Dr. Gerry Kelly Aquatics Centre in the Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness at MacEwan University (10800 105 Avenue).
The pool is 25 metres with six lanes. The depth of the pool is 1.2 m to 3.8 m with a zero depth entry. There are gendered locker rooms and washrooms adjacent to the pool, with private locker rooms and washrooms on the pool deck. The temperature is approximately 29 degrees and uses chlorine.
The pool is readily accessible by public transit, including the MacEwan LRT station. Paid parking is available behind the building.
